Immigration or Citizenship status has no effect on admissions decisions at Georgia Perimeter College.

The information is required only to assess residency for tuition purposes, eligibility for financial aid, and eligibility to register for classes.

Applicants who are in the United States as Permanent Residents, Applicants for Permanent Residency, Refugees, Asylees, or who have non-immigrant status other than F-1 are required to show original official immigration documents as follows:

  • For F-1 students currently outside the US. - Upon entry into the U.S., bring your I-20, passport with student visa, and I-94 card to International Student Admissions and Advising for copying. Request for Form I-20 is also required.
     
  • For F-1 students transferring from another college or university in the U.S. - Bring I-20 from your current school, passport with student visa, and I-94 card for copying, and completed Transfer Clearance Form from current school to International Student Admissions and Advising. Request for Form I-20 is also required.

For all other students holding another immigrant or non-immigrant status in the U.S., submit a completed Certification of Immigrant/Visa Status with the following attached:

  • Non-immigrant visa holders – a notarized copy of the front and  back of your I-94, your passport bio page, and your visa. Please note that persons in "B1/B2" Tourist Status or "F2" Dependent status may not attend Georgia Perimeter College until status is changed to F-1 student status.
  • Permanent Residents – your Permanent Resident card (green card).
  • Applicants for Permanent Residency –  your passport bio page, and any two of the following documents:
  •     Your I-94 card
  •     Your valid EAD card
  •     Any notices of action from the the Department of Homeland Security (less than 6 months old)
  •     A letter from the lawyer who filed your application for permanent residency. The letter should state the current status of your application and the Receipt Number.
  • Asylees and Refugees –  your passport bio page, your I-94 and/or passport stamp authorizing asylum or refugee status, your passport bio page, your EAD card (if available), and any other documents you may have received from the Department of Homeland Security.
  • Applicants who cannot provide documentation of status should make an appointment to discuss options with an international student counselor in the office of International Student Admissions and Advising.
